What is a Work and Development Order?

Work and Development Orders (WDOs) are a new way to help people who can't pay their fines.

If you are eligible for a WDO, you can clear your fines with activities instead of money. You can do unpaid work, counselling, vocational courses or treatment programs.

WDOs are supervised by organisations or health practitioners called WDO Sponsors. They have special approval from the NSW Government to supervise WDOs.

Legal Aid NSW and the Aboriginal Legal Services (NSW/ACT) are working together to help people with their WDOs.
